Artshala

Artshala is a community service initiative where, every alternate year, we select a school or classrooms and completely transform the space by painting it ourselves. In the year 2025–26, we took up Navbharat Vidya Mandir, located in Mulund West, and successfully painted the school entirely by ourselves within a span of 12 days.
The project started completely from scratch. We first began by looking for a sponsor who could provide the required paints. After reaching out to several people and exploring different options, we connected with a Rotary member who was interested in the idea and generously agreed to sponsor the paints.
Once the paints were sorted, we finalised the location as Navbharat Vidya Mandir. For 12 consecutive days, our team reported to the school every morning at 10 a.m. and worked until 7 p.m. Through consistent teamwork and effort, we successfully completed the painting of the walls.
For the artwork and designs, we reached out to our sponsor, who is also a talented artist. She was fascinated by the concept of Artshala and happily agreed to collaborate with us. Together, we finalised a different theme for each wall. The themes included Inside Out, Space, Waves, Sun, Indian Art, and several other creative concepts, giving every wall its own unique identity.
Once all the walls were completed, we organised a proper opening ceremony. The Principal and Trustee of the school were invited for the inauguration, where the completed walls were officially unveiled.
Artshala was a project that we built and executed from the ground up. From finding a sponsor and finalising the school to planning the artwork and spending 12 full days on-ground, the entire project was carried out by us. Successfully transforming the school through our own efforts made Artshala a truly fulfilling community service initiative.

NAAZ
NAAZ, an initiative under Community service, is undertaken to support the LGBTQ+ Community and to become good allies.
Under NAAZ, we gather to experience the journey of the LGBTQ+ Community narrated by none other than them. The first edition of NAAZ: “this time they talk we listen” was held at the auditorium of Kelkar College. Change starts at home and so we started at our own home. Family members of the Rotaract members of RCMMS were addressed during the first edition where awareness was raised, speaker sessions were held by the Members of the LGBTQ+ Community, and band performances & open mics, dance performances and stand-up comedy took place.
However, Due to the onset of the pandemic, the second & the third editions of NAAZ had to be conducted online. Under the second & the third editions, a myriad of activities like poster making, face painting, quizzes, pride parades, coming out stories, poetry & live sessions were organized to lend our support to the community. Our initiative is also backed by various celebrities like

WAKE UP K!D
Wake Up K!D is a Professional Development Initiative that was started in the R.I. Year 2025–26. As a part of this initiative, we identified an all-girls NGO in Mulund West called Sakhi Foundation, where we conducted a two-month-long skill development programme for girls between the ages of 13 and 20 years.
The main aim of the initiative was to introduce the girls to a variety of skills that could help them develop their knowledge, confidence, and practical abilities according to the current times. Over the course of two months, we conducted sessions on 14+ different skills, covering everything from soft skills and technical skills to creative skills and skills that could potentially help them generate a stable source of income in the future.
The sessions included Computer Skills, Editing, Mehendi, Nail Art, Crochet, Storytelling, Graphic Design, Perfume Making, Makeup, AI & ML, Dance, Leadership Skills, Communication Skills, and several other activities. The sessions were planned to ensure that the girls were not only learning something new but also getting an opportunity to explore different areas and identify skills that they might be interested in pursuing further.
The initiative was conducted with approximately 85–90 girls in total. The idea was not just to conduct one-time workshops, but to expose the girls to different fields and give them an understanding of the skills that are relevant and useful in today's world.
At the end of the initiative, the NGO Head was also given the option of enrolling interested girls in specific skills that they wanted to pursue further. This allowed the girls to continue developing the skills they connected with and were genuinely interested in.
Through Wake Up K!D, we aimed to provide the girls with exposure beyond their regular learning environment and give them an opportunity to learn, explore, and develop skills that could be useful for their personal and professional growth in the future.
